Almo Visit!

The last week and a half of June, the kids and I (JayC still had school) headed out to Almo to kill some time waiting for baby and to let mom pamper us. :) It was a heat wave, so was exceptionally hot most of the time, but we fought it by running through the sprinklers and enjoying the shade. When not outside, I enjoyed reading, and even Connell finished reading his first chapter book! Very exciting! I'm so proud!
Callister and Caellum really enjoyed interacting with the animals. Caellum kept trying to give the goats grass, and he'd yell at them to "Come here!" He was mostly unsuccessful at his attempts, but it was sure entertaining to me! By the end of our time there, he was getting really independent and would tell me, "I'll be right back," while he'd run off and play while I sat on the porch swing in the shade. He's usually attached at my hip, so that was a relief for awhile!

The boys always sleep so well at Almo. It must be that fresh country air!

 A couple of days, we got to go help grandma entertain Marlene and Richard's kids while they went to their ward youth conference. The kids all had a blast playing together, especially in the afternoons when they pulled out the pools and played in the water for hours! Surprisingly, my white boys didn't get too sunburned for how long they were in the sun. Cousins are so much fun! I'm glad they got to bond like they did.

I had to add this last picture of my mom and Marty and me at Texas Roadhouse for mom and I's birthday celebration! They completely surprised me by showing up at my door and took me out to eat and to see the Celtic Woman concert! So much fun! I love surprises! All I knew was that I had to be ready by 5pm for whatever was going to happen. I thought it was a baby shower, but this was much better! :) How lucky am I to have such cool sisters and to share a birthday with my mom? :) We had a great June!
