No More Cast!

Trying to relax while we wait.
On June 17th, I took Callister back in to the doctor to see if his cast could come off. He was really scared, since now he knew what the cast saw sounded like (since we had to go in a couple weeks earlier to get it cut off around his thumb), so he really didn't want to hear that again. The nurse was super nice and let him lay down and watch cartoons while we waited for the x-ray tech to get back from lunch. After only a few minutes wait, a nurse and doctor came in with the saw and they let me stand back while they cut off his cast. He screamed and cried for the first few seconds, and then he realized it really didn't hurt at all, so he was fine! Funny kid. They put tongue depressor sticks under the cast, so he didn't feel anything at all on his skin while they sawed through. He did great. They took him in for another x-ray and then gave him a popsicle while we waited for the x-ray results. His bones had completely healed back together! It was really cool to see on the x-ray. The human body is amazing! We were very excited he didn't have to get another cast put on! I'm glad that's behind us!

"Look Mom! No more cast!"

Of course, we had to bring home the cast so we can remember this experience!

Everyone had to join in on the celebration!

Silly boys.

And one last one for good measure! :)
