3 days left in Texas

This is what we woke up to this morning. Ugh. It was like 75 degrees on Sunday, so the sudden cold shift and snow is just crazy! I guess it's just Texas telling us good-bye. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but there ya go! Connell is excited!

JayC got me these tulips this weekend. He said they reminded him of me. :) He can be sweet when he puts his mind to it. And who can resist tulips when they're in bloom?

I found this kids' fedora at Sears the other day. Connell loves JayC's hats and always likes to wear them. So it was fun to find one his size! He loves it and even posed for me. Funny kid! Now he's cool like his daddy.

So here we are finally at our last few days in Texas. We are soooo excited to be leaving, not because we don't like Texas, but because leaving Texas represents that JayC is officially done with military training!! He no longer is just a "grunt" people can be mean to just because they feel like it. (Although higher ranks are always allowed to do so, but he'll be more inconspicuous now.) He has an intelligence position in the U.S. Air Force and he'll be a Senior Airman soon after we reach Beale AFB. I think life is going to be a lot better for him in the military now. He already feels like he has much more freedom. His follow-up class has been very relaxed and he's very excited to be done. His graduation from this class will be in one of the "top secret" buildings on base, so I can't go to it, but I got to go to the big one a few weeks ago, so I'm okay with that. I'm really going to miss our wonderful ward here. I've made a few really good friends I'll miss, but that's life in the military. Connell is going to miss his teachers and friends in Nursery. They did an excellent job of being consistent with their routine and he really loved going.

The movers are coming tomorrow to pack up our stuff and take it to storage in California. We found out we would be spending more than we'd get back to move it ourselves for some reason from Texas, so we decided to have the military move us. Then Friday we'll leave as soon as JayC is done with graduation and out-processing. So hopefully by early afternoon. We'll drive to Las Vegas (we should get there Saturday night) and visit with Jay for a day and then we'll be on our way home to Idaho Falls on Monday. I'll be relieved when all this planning and organizing is done with for awhile, so I can enjoy some much-needed rest and relaxation in Idaho! I hope the weather is good.

It hasn't been too cold down here away from Iceberg. It is actually kind of seeming like Spring! Can't wait to see you!
