We're Expecting!!

Yep, I'm finally posting our big news!

After a year and a half of trying to get pregnant, we found out on Wednesday, May 26th, that we're expecting baby Hebdon number two!! We're so excited!

I went to the Beale AFB Clinic on the 26th to meet with a doctor to see what to do next with my struggle to get pregnant. I had taken Clomid for 3 cycles, the last being in March, and my fertility monitor had said I had not ovulated once again, so I was sure I wasn't pregnant, even though it had been 9 weeks since my last cycle. Dr. Johnson and I discussed what I wanted to do next. We decided to try putting me on birth control to help regulate my periods and hopefully induce ovulation, since that's how I got pregnant with Connell. Many patients with PCOS do this. She also decided to do some routine blood tests for my thyroid and a pregnancy test just to be sure I wasn't before I started birth control.

Well, I had picked up my birth control pills and headed home to pick up Connell from a friend's house. We hung out at home for another hour or so until I had to go pick up JayC from work. Just as we were preparing to leave, I got a phone call on JayC's phone and it was Dr. Johnson leaving a message to call her about the lab results. I called back and just missed her. A few minutes later, she called me on my phone and told me that the blood test was positive, that I am pregnant! I was shocked! I asked her if she was sure and she assured me she was. She said,"I wanted to be the one to tell you, cuz I don't get to share this kind of exciting news very often with my infertility patients!" She was so sweet and excited for me. I burst into tears and thanked her. It took me a few minutes to regain my composure, and then I left to get JayC. I had to wait for 20 minutes for him, and I was going crazy because of the great news I had just heard! The first thing he told me was, "I told you so!" He had told me a few times in the last week that I was pregnant, but I didn't believe it, because I thought it was impossible. Somehow, I guess I just ovulated a few weeks later than I should have with the Clomid. I think it's a miracle!

So I'm at about 11 1/2 weeks right now, and the last 6 weeks, I've been pretty sick all the time. I've only thrown up once, (knock on wood) but I'm constantly feeling nauseous. It's not just morning sickness; it's all day sickness, and I'm hoping it's almost overwith. All food is just gross to me, except for fruit and pasta. I've been blessed to be able to fulfill my calling in Primary at church though. I always feel really good once I'm at church and I'm able to do what I need to do as 1st Counselor. What a blessing!

So we're happily awaiting the arrival of Connell's sibling! I'm due on January 27th. I'm very excited to be able to have a Midwife for this pregnancy. She's a partner with a doctor, so she is covered by my insurance! She's very cool and down to earth, and actually cares what I think and want to do. So this should be a much better experience than with Connell. Here's hoping!
